so i know in the past, and this season technically.. seniors get a game in their home state. so kaleena got UC Davis, but nothing for Kiah

was there ever discussion of trying to get a game in Iowa or do we think it was totally overlooked/?
 
I doubt it was overlooked.. more than likely no one in the area wanted to schedule the game. Back when we had Tamika Williams the only Ohio school that would play us was Dayton... and they there not one of UCONN's first choice. There have been comments made that schools do not want to schedule us... But knowing Geno I am sure he probably tried..
 
Speaking of Geno and scheduling, he called out Duke in an interview today about cycling UConn out. It was a clip from this Wednesday's Geno Show.
 
Geno tries to do home games at some point in a player's career, but he doesn't always do it.

Stokes got a couple of games at DePaul which is about 4 hrs from home.
 
I asked Bill Fennelly Head Coach of Iowa State if he would ever schedule a home/away with UConn. He said his conference schedule was tough enough and didn't need to schedule the likes of UConn. They usually have good not great teams. They usually have a weak OOC Schedule that they dominate and then win around 50% of their conference games and make the tournament. They make the tournament based on the strength of the B12 and by winning around 20-22 games. There are so many WBB coaches that use this formula to make the tournament and keep their jobs.

There have been a number of seniors that did not get a 'home' game - sometimes it ends up being in their junior year and sometimes it just isn't able to be fit in because of schedule or because other coaches not wanting to play. I don't believe Maya ever had one because Uconn couldn't find a Georgia team to play.

I don't actually believe this and am presenting it for inclusiveness purposes only. Was all the talk of Kiah leaving UConn a factor in any way?

Kiah never said anything to Geno about leaving, none of Kiah's family indicated anything... it was just ignorant people who want to start conflict that post things that they have no clue about pretending to be in the know. Thank God she did not transfer......

My question for all the people who talk of individuals transferring.... Why was there no heads up on Walker, or Edwards, or even Banks....
 
More writers and talkshow folks need tbroadcast the fact that coaches are ducking UCONN............Where is Ohio State, Michigan State, Penn State, Texas, Miami, GA, BC, UNC, TENN, Texas AM, OK, and more.............Really?????????
 
I think it probably came down to scheduling and NO coach in Iowa wanted to schedule UConn. Even if the game was on their own homecourt. Thus Kiah got no home game because of it.
