Not so sure how the article nor allegation necessarily suggests an Onion story nor any other fictional source, but the South Bend newspaper and the plaintiff's cited law firm certainly exist.

Not that this is an Onion story, more that it's just very odd. It also seems the involvement of the athletes is very tangential at best, if it's even true. Something about it just seems very odd. Unlike the UL story, there's absolutely no proof of anything cited. No emails, phone calls, texts, pictures, etc.

I hate ND as much as the next guy, but there is nothing here that makes me think the school -- as opposed to one employee -- did anything wrong. Obviously, we'll see.
