SEC to continue eight-game conference schedule

My take on this is all the other P5 conferences will soon follow suit, and all the mid-major conferences will not have a change to play any P5 teams and in time will dwindle to DII type football. UConn really needs to get out of this AAC conference in 5 years time, if not...we are DOOM!!!

Now we know why Tenn. dropped our series with them. It's going to be hard to book other P5 teams in the future.

Only a matter of time before the other leagues announce the same thing possibly with the exception of the Pac 12 due to geography.

In my estimation this all but eliminates ever playing a SEC team again.

Gotta figure the B1G to 9 games and Big12 already at 9 pretty much eliminates its from there as well.

And the ACC? Good luck with that.

At this point I'd just prefer the AAC go to a 9 game conference slate as well.

On a positive note this possibly decreases the number of bowl eligible P5 teams and therefore opens up more at-large spots in better bowl games we would otherwise not have access to.

Only a matter of time for the P5 to change that rule to where if one of your 4 OOC games is against another P5 school you only need 5 wins to become bowl eligible, and if none are against a FCS side, 4 wins gets you bowl eligible.
