I'm speaking specifically on when LSU acquired Hailey Van Lith and Morrow. Sure, they had a favorable path to the title. But when they got Hailey Van Lith and Morrow they went from a team that caught lightening in a bottle to a team that was expected to go back-to-back. They had hype. We knew they would have growing pains so it's kind of weird to me that the expectations for them are suddenly changing since they lost 2 games.

Look, I'm not here to parse words on my use of the term 'world beaters'... my only point was that it's strange for me to see posters say that SC has the conference locked up already and that the game in BR is a formality when that game is versus a team that was preseason #1, predicted to win the SEC, and was the talk of the summer because of the talent they accumulated - and reiterate that the game is at LSU. SC is for sure no slouch, but LSU is still LSU.. they just lost a few games like many smart people on the Boneyard assumed they would.

I think some of the comments were to effect SCar doesn't have to win in Baton Rouge to win the SEC.

I won't rule out an upset by Soneone even this week but 15-1 may well win it. And LSU easily could lose again if they slipped up against Auburn. Auburn is ... not good.

Exactly. Regardless of the outcome of next week's game, the chances of South Carolina not winning the SEC right now is less that 3%. LSU would have to win out the rest of the schedule and there is no indication that they could do that.

I thought South Carolina was overlooked in the offseason based on its personnel losses rather than what it returned and would likely win the SEC.

I'm not terribly surprised that the team is undefeated but I can't say that I expected to be the best three point percentage team in the country.

With that said, feels like this team can certainly be gotten and the schedule has played out to be softer than Dawn would have chosen it to be I think.

This team is not head and shoulders better rebounding than the other top teams and I'm not necessarily sold on the ability to hold down the big time guards they may face in tournament.

As far as LSU goes, they certainly can beat South Carolina in Baton Rouge, but it feels like 15-1 or 16-0 probably wins the league.
I thought we would be a national title contender and had a chance to be a better team than last year by the end of the season. I'm surprised to be undefeated simply because we had five new starters.

Ole miss has remaining games against Ga Fla KY Mo Ark — it should be them

The more interesting battle is who is the worst?

A few games ago, I would have said Kentucky but Georgia seems to be surging to the bottom.i

Oh dumb statement .
LSU owns the tiebreaker over Miss, so slight edge to them .

Miss should do no worse than 12-4. So if Tigers can go 7-1, they get it.

Other teams have no chance. 4th place will be interesting.

After three quarters against LSU and the full game last night, I think Auburn is a good bad team.

Besides LSU, the only good teams they've beaten are Washington State and Alabama, but they don't have any bad losses. They are 3-7 against quality opponents and unbeaten outside Q1 and 2. They can make you work, but they don't have enough scoring to beat most good teams. I guess if you couldn't adjust to the physicality or you can't hit anything, you might get got. Felt like LSU had a little of both. Definitely see why they just overwhelm mediocre to bad opponents.

If they manage to sneak in as an 11 or 12, they're going to make somebody work for it. Might be a situation where they beat you in the next round because some 6's would be so exhausted.

Here are the remaining schedules for the next four after South Carolina.
Ole Miss- @USC, TAM, @UF, MSU, UGA, @Mizz, @UK, Ark
Tennessee- Mizz, @Bama, Ark, USC, @Vandy, LSU, TAM, @USC
LSU- UF, @Vandy, Bama, @TAM, Aub, @UT, @UGA, Ken
Mississippi State- @TAM, UGA, UF, @Ole Miss, UK, @Bama, @Aub, Mizz
Four other teams have only four losses so they obviously have a chance. Of the teams above Ole Miss likely has the best road ahead. LSU has a pretty decent schedule but their lack of depth may bite them.

Miss State ends up #2. They win out and have the tie breaker over LSU. Tenn and Ole Miss both end with 4 losses.

I still like Ole Miss or LSU. I’m a huge Mississippi State fan but Ole Miss is really good at home. That game is pivotal for OM regarding winning out.

Other than the highly improbable odds of losing to Tennessee twice and Tennessee winning out, the Gamecocks basically have the SECT 1 seed wrapped up with 7 games remaining. The Gamecocks already hold the tie breaker over Swiss Miss, Mississippi State and LSU, along with 3 game leads against them.
