Does this have anything to do with our series versus Florida? Or is that completely separate? I assume Florida would be involved with the SEC/Big 12 Challenge but I don't know how that works.

Seems to me the 6 schools in the SEC that don’t play in the challenge will play against 6 of the top AAC teams to make sure all of the SEC teams and the top AAC teams get extra Quad 1/2 games.

Wouldn't it be only 4 SEC schools?

So basically the bottom 4 SEC teams will play the top 4 AAC teams?

I mean, it's a good thing in a vacuum. I just hope they don't play up the "challenge" aspect of it and make a big deal over who wins the most games each year. That's a no-win situation for the AAC.

I'm not so sure. Top of the AAC should be able to pretty consistently beat the bottom of the SEC

Only 4 SEC teams don't participate. Pretty meh for the AAC with only a third of the conference participating.

Isn't there a contract that over a period of time all the SEC teams participate in the B12/SEC challenge? They rotate through. So there's probably a high, medium, and low team every year.

Assuming the rotational nature of which SEC teams participate this is actually a pretty good thing for the conference (as long as the American doesn't rotate teams)

hmmm, espn 'owns' aac AND sec. what if down the road, the two were, dare I say it, combined? nah, that's just crazy talk...or is it? (full disclosure; sec is my favorite conference not named aac).

Only schools that have played in every Challenge since 2014: Florida, Kentucky, Ole Miss, and Vanderbilt. Those might be the 4 out for next year.
This would make sense too as UConn and Florida have the H/H and Kentucky and Memphis have been rumored to be playing this upcoming season

According to the replies on that, LSU, Missouri, Mississippi State, and Georgia will be the four teams next year.

Question is do you take the 4 best teams in the AAC or do they take top 4 money making teams on TV.

Or do they rotate us to be once every 3 years. I can see the AAC screwing this up. I don't think Big 12 and SEC want any ECU Tulsa Tulane matchups.
