I'm going to the game tomorrow night and have a seat right behind the Storm's bench. It'll be the first time I see Sue Bird play in the WNBA in person. I'm interested in how the rookies (Dolson and Hartley) progress in this game. Will it be a Bird vs Hartley matchup etc?

Thoughts..comments?

Dolson really had a nice third quarter. She and Meesseman are a nice post tandem.

Hope you're enjoying the game.

Sue nailed a big three and 2 FTs in the closing minutes.

Stef had a few nice passes.

Other than Meeseman, no one shot the ball well.

It was an offensively challenged first half with a 26-24 score. Maya can score more than that. In fact, she did exactly that just last night.

Sue Bird.

I was excited to see one of the living legends of WBB play in person and she did not disappoint.

I was half expecting to see the Storm go 0-4 but it looks like they're getting their act together. The team seemed to be pretty upbeat the entire game. Not how you might expect a team that had gone 0-3 to start the season to act. I was happy to see Nicole Powell suited up for the Storm. She was sitting right in front of me and looked right at me. I knew she had some basketball left in her!I know she's interested in coaching and she's in the right place playing for Agler. She went in in the second quarter and might be a missing piece for the Storm.

Emme Meeseman started out the game playing like Hakeem Alajuwon in the first quarter. I think she had 12 points and looked unstoppable. I think she could be one of the superstars of the WNBA if she learns a few more things and maybe beefs up a little. For some reason they took her out of the game and when she came back in she wasn't as effective. I can never understand how coaches take the "hot hand" out of games. I'd leave them in as long as I could.

Here's an interesting comment from the ESPN site from a fan:

"It Seems This Will Be The Last Year SUE Bird Will Play In Seattle...Something Tells Me If They Aren't In Playoff Contention Near The Trade Deadline She'll Be Traded To A Contender...NEW YORK Would Seem The Likely Destination"

Do you think this opinion has any merit?

I can see her wanting to play with Charles in NY. Isn't that home for her?

I think Cappie dominates the ball, which may not be a good situation for Sue. Otherwise--playing in NYC and with Tina sounds good.

But Sue is an icon in Seattle and can still play. I don't see the Storm trading her. Agler is too smart for that. The team would be worse and the fan backlash would be huge.

The game I went to the rookie Anna Cruz was playing point and handled the ball on every possession. Seattle and NY are playing tonight. I better take my laptop home and watch it.
