Is Sue gonna play again this year? Out again today.

Storm getting a lot of production from the 4 spot. 6 pts/7 boards for Howard, and a quick 7 points in 4 minutes off the bench for Magbegor.

Chicago treading water. Only 8 players. Sue coaching on point. Just tire them out on the defensive end and run run run

Seattle stretches the lead to 15 at the half.

.-.
13 for Stewie, 8 each for Howard and Loyd. Natasha limped off the floor late in the half, looked like she was getting her ankle retaped.

9 for Quigley, 7 for Sloot (plus 4 assists) for Chicago.

Lead has blown up to 22 early in Q3. Waive the white flag.

Chicago has sliced a 24 point deficit down to 16. Seattle taking some bad shots and not getting the ball movement they were most of the game.

.-.
Copper having a nice game, that's about it for Chicago. Sloot struggling, 4-13 from the floor. Copper has 18 on 8-13 shooting. Quigley decent too.

21 for Stewie, 11 for Clark, 10 for Loyd and Prince.

Whatever happened to Howard wasn't serious, she returned. She's not scoring this half but has 13 rebounds.

Chicago w/ one last charge maybe. Cut the lead from 22 to 14. Oddly it's been the Seattle starters giving up the lead. Sloot up to 9 assists to offset her tough shooting. Howard and Magbegor have hit double figures, 6 for Seattle now.

Lead back to 20. Canada has matched Sloot's 9 assists.

I don't think Stewie has scored since about midway thru Q3. Still a big game, 21 pts/8 reb. Howard is up to 17 pts/15 reb. About 2 1/2 minutes left. Storm bench in to finish it off.

.-.
24 bench points for Seattle, w/ 0 for Whitcomb. That's a bit surprising.

Pretty bland game. Chicago without Deshields/Stevens can't compete for a title. Seattle is going to be hard to beat with Howard coming into her own. Even if Bird retires after this year it'll be tough for anyone to touch Seattle next year with a core of Stewart/Loyd/Ezi/Canada/Howard.

Magbegor is a core player now?

Look at Minnesota’s potential if Maya comes back.

Vegas adds Cambage next year. Add her and bring back McCoughtry another year removed from her ACL. Whew!

And Plum. I'm not sure that getting Cambage back makes them better though. Wilson is thriving without her.

It’s about the team though. Cambage is certainly a HUGE upgrade to Swords.

Of course, but Swords is a token starter. Hamby is great off the bench and plays big minutes. Wilson/Hamby combo works better than Wilson/Cambage.

You could make an argument that Clark is about as important to Seattle as any of these players.

Agreed. I phrased it wrong...basically pointing out the future looks very bright if this crop of players stick together. All are quite young aside from Howard who is only 28.

Ah, I'm in agreement.

Chicago was undermanned. Stef is still trying to get back in shape, and Gabby isn't the offensive threat that Azura was. They'll add Mavunga, but that gets them to only 9 players.

Seattle looks good, but both Las Vegas and Los Angeles likely will push them.

Well, they said Bird will be back next week. If she is 100%, that will be the difference.
