The Seattle Storm announced today that head coach Noelle Quinn has signed a multiyear extension to remain head coach. Quinn took over as head coach on May 30 after long-time coach Dan Hughes retired. As per team policy, the terms of the deal with Quinn were not disclosed.

It only took the Seattle brass 14 games into the season to realize she was their coach of the future and locked her up long term.
Quinn holds the distinction of being the only person to win a WNBA Championship as both a player and a coach. Congrats to Coach Quinn.
I like these kinds of stories. :)

10-4 start w/ the defending Champs (albeit with several key players gone). They were 6-1 prior to her taking over. I'm not convinced she's shown enough to be considered the long term solution for coach of the Storm. But obviously the organization feels differently.
