They lead Dallas by 26-13 after 1. Stewie has 8. The Storm often start well at home.

After a low-scoring second quarter, it's 41-30 at the half.

Seattle played a lousy third and gave up the full lead, but a good 24-12 fourth quarter got them the 78-66 win. Dallas has gone from 9-10 to 9-19. Seattle is now 11-16 and in the 8th playoff spot. Jewell had a nice stat line of 23/6/4/3. Stewie had 17/12/3/1 plus 2 key blocks in the final minute or two. Sue had 13/5/4.

Pierson led Dallas with 19 points. Skylar shot 4-13, and Odyssey shot 4-10.

if they want to replace Sue in 2020 they'll need to do better

As we type: Seattle is in the 8th and final playoff spot...by 1/2 game over Washington.

Top heavy league: LA/Minny excellent...NY very good. Everybody else mediocre or worse.
Only team not in top 3...imo...with a realistic [long]shot at winning the whole thing is Phoenix with Dee and Griner.

I'm not that crazy about the "O" that Seattle runs.
Breanna is often standing around miles from the basket
You've got two unbelievable scorers in Stewie and Jewel that should be eased into position to get easy buckets
But often they score on...what is essentially one-on-ones...or in transition

The D was pretty persistent last night, though

Seattle needs a more proficient coach.

They started the game going inside from hi low and wing to post and were killing it, then not so much. Keep going with whats working.

Sue leads the league in assists at 5.8 per game, her best mark since the championship season of 2010.

She's also second in the league in 3-point shooting at 46.3%, a career best for her.

I'm not so sure that Sue is past her peak. I think she's still at her peak.

Sue is second in career assists in the WNBA, despite losing playing time to injuries. She's 227 assists away from Ticha Penicheiro's regular-season league record. That's just about within reach by the end of next season. Lindsay Whalen is third in league history and trails Sue by about 200.

Stewie often goes minutes without touching the ball on offense, in any type of position to score. They play Crystal Langhorne, who has no range outside of a layup, which clogs the middle. Alysha Clark came back to earth, and misses most of her outside shots, so the team doesn't have anyone outside of Sue, Stewie, and Jewell her consistently hit from 3.

i agree offense is terrible...on nights when they double Stewie then Loyd gets a lot of good shots...and Stewie has become an even better passer...one problem is that very often Loyd will force shots or simply take bad ones...the real problem is that they don't get Stewie enough shots thus making the defensive team's job much easier...even Geno pointed that out...Loyd has to become more complete player and more consistent shooting...if she does and the Storm get a post that can rebound and defend they are set...afraid that they are two or three years away...longer without a coaching change

I just listened to and watched the replay of the Sun victory over Phoenix on Friday evening. During the broadcast, the announcers noted that for the Sun to make the playoffs, they have to not only tie but finish with at least one more win than both Seattle and Washington, since both of those teams hold tiebreakers over the Sun.

So who will Boneyarders root for if those three teams are contending for the last two playoff slots? I have a feeling that UConn pedigree on the Storm and Mystics will move most of you to root for them over the Sun. (Although all three teams have exactly two UConn alums, even if one for Washington and one for the Sun is sidelined with physical issues right now).

Right now the Sun are a game ahead of Washington and are tied with Seattle. The Sun face three tough teams next week: the Lynx and Liberty on the road, and Chicago at home. The following week they have less serious competition, winding up with an away game at Washington. If the Sun can win 2 out of the 3 upcoming games, they should be in a favorable position to snare a playoff spot.

If they can make the playoffs, it would be an incredible achievement for this young team and this first-year coach.
