When it comes to choosing a side of the field, the tradeoff is the shade for the warm weather games makes for some chilly cold weather games. Of course, this becomes a moot point when the cold games are played after the sun sets.

Here's my question for those that sit on the UConn side: What about the sun being in your eyes? I moved to the sun side for the second half yesterday and found it very annoying. Is it less of a factor when the real games are actually played?

Wear a baseball cap or golf visor and sun glasses. Problem solved!

The sun can reflect very harshly off the metal bleachers. Usually not a problem after pre-game as the seats fill up. You will need sunglasses on really sunny days regardless.

We used to be on the press box side (240). I liked being over there during the snow, wind and rain games. The tower would shield us some if the weather was coming from that direction, but I like the sunny side.

We moved when they moved our parking passes from the grey lot to blue. We'd request grey every year, then they started giving us blue. I called to change it the first year. After that it wasn't worth the hassle. We did flip sides of the stadium so we'd be on the blue lot side.

I am a Rent rat. I sat over on the sunny side at one game a few years ago (easy to find empty seats) and could only make it 10 minutes before scurrying back to my shaded seats. The glare made it way too hard for me to watch the game. It was a late season game so the sun was lower and right in the eyes. No thanks. I just wear extra layer and enjoy glare-free unobstructed viewing of my Huskies all year.

Sorry but the press box side is hands down the best place to sit. Early games you don't bake in the sun, later games you simply dress warmer and/or bring a blanket. Your vantage point looks over at the Husky bench and it's fun to watch the coaches and the player activity. The band is also playing in your direction.

I sat in 220 for 12 years. Great spot. Love the sun and never had a problem seeing anything.

I've had season tickets on both sides. The glare never bothered me, sunglasses or a hat did the trick. Other than one game where it was 90 degrees, I've never really had issues with the sun. The difference between the sunny side and shady side on a 30 degree day in late November are significant. I would take the sunny side any day.

We were moving around a lot during the game yesterday and at one point ended up at the top row of the lower level chair backs on the sunny side. The wind coming across the the concourse is the direct level of the back of your heat/neck, very uncomfortable. I don't know how anyone can sit on those seats for an entire game.

No, early in the season the sun is still a consideration. A simple ball cap with a visor solves the problem. My reply to Nostical will further answer my take on the topic.

Nostical, no spitting match here but I could not disagree with you more. It is a subjective topic. Spent the first three years on the cold side, even enjoyed one season near the visitors corner. Met a lot of great visiting fans. ;)
Having said that ever since my group of four moved to the sunny side, we could not be happier! First we are closer to our team with a much better view of what is going on with the team. That and the band rocks in all directions but you can hear the vocal chants so much better to join in sooner. I am glad though we have you and the fans that prefer that side haunting the visitors!

It is a subjective topic. I've got no problem with that and think it's great that you enjoy your location and vantage point. Bottom line, how great would it be if our major problem was that lots of ready, willing and eager folks wanted to buy season tickets but were hung up on deciding which side to sit on. Somehow I have the feeling that you and I could happily educate them on the virtues of visors/sunglasses--or--blankets/hot water bottles.

Guess that I'm old school. I always considered the press box side of the field the "home" sideline. putting the home team on the opposite side of the press box is a made for television decision that's been in vogue nationally only for the last 2.5 decades or so. If the RENT was turned 180 degrees & the press box faced the Sun, I adjust with baseball cap & sunglasses, but I'll always sit on the press box side of the field.

Press Box Side....and for me it ain't even close. That said, there is no right answer. It also depends on whether you are upper or lower level. In the end, as long as the Home Team wins I am happy as hell.

sunny side. section 118, close to the band, the students, the team field entrance/exit, the sideline reporter (who hasn't existed for the past 1+ seasons), the bell, the husky dog (when he's on the sideline), and the sun is welcome in October/November day games.

But to be honest, there isn't a bad seat in the house :)

Sunny side, although I often question if we shouldn't flip to the other side becuase I hate roasting in the September sun. As mentioned too, a hat and/or sunglasses is an absolute must due to sunglare.
