1) Apply light pressure to the UConn player bringing up the ball (usually Sterling Gibbs). Have them waste 10 seconds getting into their offense.

2) Sag behind the 3 point line in a man to man defense, and if the guard attempts to pass it into Shonn Miller in the blocks, have other nearby defenders cheat in on Miller so its not an easy pass.

OR

3) Watch the UConn guards pass the ball on the perimeter to each other for another 10 seconds. Don't worry about the other players. They are not going to move and try and create some space. They might try a half-hearted pick that will not be effective.. For the most part the guards will just stand around the perimeter passing the ball back and forth.

4) Have the UConn player with the ball on the perimeter, with only 10 seconds left on the shot clock, get desperate and attempt to do a one-on-one drive. Just play solid defense, stepping back, harassing but not reaching and forcing an off balance 12 footer.

5) Box out and grab the rebound.

6) Repeat.

Too bad Cincy isn't the only team that plays UConn this way. RE: Tulsa, Houston, Temple...
