Men Scott Oberg becomes Rockies Minor League Pitching Coordinator

I love this for Scott and for UConn. And it may be a first - I don't recall another time when a guy who was at one time literally the worst relief pitcher in MLB getting a pitching coach gig. Between his rookie season and his fifth and final season, dude improved by 2.6 fWAR, so he must know how to tweak stuff.

Weird comment.

He had a -0.1 WAR as a rookie pitching in Colorado in 2015? Far from the worst relief pitcher in the MLB. If using WAR, two other guys on his team, alone, were worse that year.

I'm using fWAR, so that would be a -0.8 in 2015. I'm not counting guys who pitched a couple of innings - relievers who qualified on IP only.

And I'd consider that a weird reply to me given it's a compliment to his ability to adjust.

everyone in Colorado is the 'worst' pitcher in baseball.

My annoyance was with you calling him "literally the worst relief pitcher in MLB" based on some websites adjusted stat. Just wasnt necessary, let alone on our own UConn forum. That guy has battled through so much health adversity even back to his college career when he was using a cane to walk at one point.
