This thread will live for 90 minutes and then be locked.

Going to the liquor store in 90 minutes.

Tell me which bottle of Scotch or Irish Whiskey to buy. I don’t want to play 20 questions about what my preferences are, so don’t ask any.

Great choice, but I have it.

But great choice.

I'm a Scotch guy, but will concede Irish is more accessible and more versatile. I'd go Tyreconnell 10 Year (your choice of port or sherry cask) or Teeling Single Grain.

I'm a bourbon guy but I buy my father Oban scotch a couple times a year as it is his favorite. I have had it a few times with him and It's pretty tasty. 14, 16, 18 year. All pretty good.

Unfortunately, not available where I’m going.

Got some. Not my favorite to be honest, but good.
I don’t like any of the traditional Irish whiskies but I love pure pot stills, which are like the single malts of Irish whiskey. Green Spot, Powers or Redbreast.

In true BY fashion, I recommend this:

It is neither scotch nor Irish whiskey, and generally not available in the US, so it seems like a typical suggestion.
I tried that a few months ago! A co-worker's husband offered it to me at their house and it was freakin' good!

Does scotch give anyone else weird acid reflux? It's the only hard alcohol that does that to me!
