This is the same algorithm that was on SHU +10 in Newark against us too, FYI. The sharps are on St. Johns as well.
This is going to be a tough game for us without the usual crowd advantage we have at MSG. The Johnnies aren't an ideal matchup for us and they have a great coach. I think it's going to be a close one.
Between last year and this year Pitino has had enough of UConn and Hurley and he wants this game desperately because that puts a stamp on his work.
They will come out very hard and we have to match that intensity. Don’t wait for the second half.
If we lose this game we won’t like it but we gain a day of rest and preparation for what really matters.
It's going to be a one possession game for much of the game, maybe even an early st John's spurt but will come down to the last seconds. In the 70s I think. Nervous but we will see.
I'm nervous because its Pitino, I'm nervous because its St. Johns, I'm nervous because UConn hasn't made it past Friday in the big east tourney since rejoining...but then again this team is good. This 6 game heater the johnnies is on has a butler win, a depaul win, and two georgetown wins. What pitino has done this year is awesome and shouldn't be diminished, but it shouldn't be upgraded to delusion either. A week full of upsets and close games has a lot of us forgetting how good this UConn team is. UConn knows exactly what they are up against and will not take them lightly. UConn 83 St John's 68. Take UConn and the 9 points...remember, has BIIIG ever steered you wrong?
Think the Good Guys will win this, but Pitino makes me nervous, he is a great coach. We should play good team defense, Clingan stay out of foul trouble, and we have to many answers on offense.
