SC looked terrible. No offense. Miami was even worse. A really ugly, ugly game.

SC is going to have to play a lot better to win it all. Not impressed at all.
Ugly defines that game perfectly.

We have had this issue all year but still none of the top contenders were able to take us out. SC has not loss to a ranked team all year. The only thing different about this game than the other games, Boston had one of her worse offensive performances of her career.

Most of the SC games this past season the score was upper 50’s/low 60’s..todays game IMO was embarrassing…if an opponent can get a few extra stops on them and score upper 60’s…they win the game…this just might be one of Dawn’s greatest fears.

I know it's win and move on, but after all the noise that ESPN made after destroying poor Howard, the same team scored 10, 13, 8 and 18 to reach 49. Hope the pundits respond accordingly.:rolleyes:

Not a fan of SoCar but if memory serves me, they had probably as many games where they scored more than 70 as they did below 70.
And they really didn't need to score in those games because weren't they one of the top defensive teams in the country?
But, I don't disagree with you.

Just looked at the box score. I wondered how much time bench players got. Wow. It wasn't a heck of a lot.

Oh man. Alexa's fixing to learn the hard way that the SC twitter mob is certifiably insane and they will now make her life a living hell for daring to say something less than gushing about their team.

This SC team is not on a good trajectory, their offense is just getting worse and worse. I think their success ultimately boils down to Cooke/Henderson, who have both been awful through 2 games, and both played poorly vs. Kentucky when it got down to the nitty gritty. SC's defense is good enough to carry them to the Final Four, but I think they get beat by NC State/Stanford in the title game unless their guards catch fire. Both of those squads look far more complete IMO and are playing well.

Did she tweet something getting a lot of pushback? I don't follow twitter, so I rely on you all to keep me informed!

See tweet in the header post. She tweeted about their less than stellar shooting and notice that she was compelled to clarify that they "can absolutely still win it all".

From what I hear they went berserk last night distorting Mulkey's comments way out of context to fabricate their outrage du jour. Maybe they've moved on to Alexa-gate today.

Well every time the offense sputters, coach tends to double down on bad offensive lineups for the experience factor.

But today showed why adding Cardoso might possibly be key in the tournament.

I agree with you. The offense has looked progressively worse to me as the season has worn on. I know SC prioritizes defense and rebounding but they’re already so good in those areas that I’d prefer a bit of a dropoff in order to see the offensive engine revved up a bit. I think the offense looked better last year — and plenty of us complained about it last year.

You can defend all day but if you run into a team scoring in the 80s, even the strongest of defenses is going to struggle to hold that team to 55. And as we saw, that’s not always something South Carolina can score.

For what it’s worth, it at least appears to me that this team shoots better away from home.
