Six more years of waiting around in the AAC? Great, that is just great.

At least we know we'll have a shot if it gets to 4 16 school conferences. Only Big 12 and AAC members would be able to leave. The top 3 schools would be Texas, Oklahoma and UConn.

If 16 becomes the goal,

Big 10 would have 2 open slots.
ACC would have 1 open slot.
SEC would have 2 open slots.
Pac-12 would have 2 slots.

There's only 3 or 4 schools that stick out of what's in the Big 12 and AAC. And there's 7 slots.

Pac-12 adds Texas and Texas Tech (or UNM).
SEC adds Oklahoma and....
Big 10 adds UConn and Kansas.
ACC's only option is probably UConn.

Some believe OK won't/can't go without OK legislature influence that OK State goes with them. So, assuming that's true, that could eliminate the 2 for SEC or BIG.

If that was the case, they definitely wouldn't be going to the Big Ten....

What about WVU, Houston, BYU, Cincinnati, and maybe USF.

Do you think these schools pose a threat to us gaining entry into the Big Ten or ACC?

Who knows what the future holds for CR? Cable box models out? A La Cart models in?

Football still driving? Basketball having increased importance? The rise of non revenue sport watching?

Can't figure out threats without knowing the terrain.

Frost said..."I can sum up everything I know about life in three words...It keeps going."

That's my thought on CR.

About that 2023 timeline. The last round of realignment started in April 2011. That is when Marinatto and the Old Big East initially approved a new TV deal with ESPN. A month later they rejected it because they saw what the Pac-12 was getting and thought they could get more. 4 months later Cuse and Pitt were gone. Aresco is trying to prevent that from happening again by adding Wichita State preemptively but the current contract expires in 2019-20. If Aresco and the AAC presidents don't accept the initial ESPN offer (likely in 2018) could we see similar moves to get the biggest "brands" out of the AAC?

WVU would definitely get picked up by ACC or SEC if it needed a home.

Did the counting wrong. There's actually 9 open slots, with the Pac-12 having 4.

UN-Reno has hope, methinks. That city seems to have a big immediate future.
