Sarah Wins The Wooden

At tonight’s Wooden Award banquet in LA, Sarah was just named this year’s WBB Wooden Award winner. Sarah was joined by Azzi on the Wooden AA team.

Sarah joins Maya (twice), Tina, Stewie (twice) and Paige as one of five UConn Huskies to win the award.

Not surprising but Sarah just won the Wooden Award. The 1st UConn player to sweep the major NPOY awards, since Stewie.

You forgot Rebecca Lobo (1995), Jennifer Rizzotti (1996), and Diana Taurasi (2003)

Also Maya won it 3 times:2009, 2010, 2011

Lobo and Rizzotti didn't/couldn't win the Wooden because it didn't exist for women until 2004. And Taurasi was a finalist for it in the first year 2004, but Alana Beard of Duke won it.

Hmm. I think that Sarah will, unfortunately, have major competition from JuJu...didn't she win it last year (2025)?
I'm rooting for Sarah, just pointing it out.

Giving Sarah a Wooden award is an insult to a player of her caliber. You would think they would at least make it out of some sort of metal.
