College Hoops Today has Sanogo as pre-season second team All-American. Good for him and the program!

Adama Sanogo, UConn: The favorite for Big East Preseason Player of the Year, Sanogo should continue to take target practice around the rim as a junior after pulverizing opponents as a sophomore. An improving shot blocker, the 6-9 center tallied 55 blocks last season while averaging 14.8 points and 8.8 rebounds. Sanogo only blocked 21 shots two years ago as a freshman.

Kalkbrenner on the third team is the only other Big East player

Improved it, imo

Needs to finish around the rim. Be blocked at the rim cost us dearly last two seasons!

Ryan Nembhard as honorable mention. Man, people really have rose-colored glasses about how good he was last year. He was turnover-prone, couldn't shoot, couldn't finish, and didn't get to the line. Decent playmaker. He's not going to be a top 20 player in the country this year, lmao. Maybe as a senior.

Some REALLY big names on this list. If the rumors are true and he can shoot jumpers now, he should be consistently showing up on draft boards

Oh and also it would be nice to use the glass and dunk a few times

Agree -he's very good but not great. I think Creighton being a top 5 team is a bit of a stretch. I think they're ceiling is 10 and their floor is 20.

I think Creighton deserves every bit of the top 5 hype. When the guy we're discussing being very good but not great in Nembhard is likely to be their 5th best starter I think that makes for a really good team

We shall see. Last year they were in the 50's ratings-wise and lost two of their top three scorers. They have an excellent coach and really nice pieces but I think they'll end up lower than top 5. Time will tell, of course.

Kaluma is the key for them. If he makes the leap they will be very very very good

Top 5 is a stretch for Creighton but I think they're clear favorites to win the BE and I'm not sure if anybody can really challenge them*

*except the Huskies of course
