That's why I said San Diego, though I suppose it does cause the heart to skip a beat considering SDSU's last couple of years.

I talked to Brandon Johnson for a while in St. Thomas. They had beaten us in the tourny the previous year, and both teams ended up in the same tournament that fall. We talked about the different players that returned for us, and I remember him saying that Jeff Adrein was the fiercest person he had ever played against. He seemed like a real likeable kid. Of course, he blew out his achilles later that season. He was granted a 5th year of eligibility, which is when the alleged scandal occurred. Could have been an easy target after being SD's best player ever and probably losing a shot in the league after the injury. If it's true, definitely a sad story.

FYI, San Diego, or University of San Diego, is a private institution that is either catholic or jesuit (I forget which). San Diego State is part of the State university system, not to be confused with the much more prestigious University of California System (UCLA, UC Berkeley, USCB, UCSD, etc).

You're confusing it with Pepperdine. USD is nice, but it's not like its waterfront.
