I think Reed turned on his light switch especially checking in the first 5 minutes of the game last night. Samson is a two time Champion and knows what he did last year to help win the Crown. This is all becoming a culmination in the right direction for him.

Our Center tandem is Tournament ready and coming close or matching our past Championship big tandems. We know our Center position is fine now even if it takes two. This means to me is that our foundation is now set and its strong!

Our bench will determine how the final build will finally look. That's bench part is the Carpenter's job and his assistants. The good thing is they are expert builders in Tournament readiness.

Samson does a lot of things that do not show up on the stat sheet. He handles the ball in the high post, he sets screens, on rebounds he can't handle he taps the ball out, his minutes help keep Reed fresh, on defense he high hedges, he prevents three point shots, he changes shots in the lane, sometime he prevents the shot all together, he hustles, he brings energy, he gets on the floor after loose balls.
While it was nice to see him stuff the stat sheet last night, he is a vital part of the team even when the numbers don't show it.

The more I watch Danny Hurley teams the more I start to see how huge these type of things are. Calhoun had guys like this too, all the time. Saunders, Hilton, Josh Boone. They didn't fill up the stat sheet but we all remember them as legends because they did all the other stuff.
The majority of teams in college aren't constructed with 'Hassans, Samson Johnson's and Karaban' - types playing such a prominent role.
Just look at the ultimate example of the "does the other stuff" guy...Andre Jackson Jr.
Carpenter indeed.

He has been torched for not getting rebounds and look what he did. Our rebounding numbers in the last several games have improved. Anyone notice this?
I smiled a little bit during the game thinking about this because a lot of those rebounds, weren't traditional box out and pull down the ball and some of them were pretty far from the basket, but they all count and get us back onto offense.

He did good for a game and we should all be happy.
His career shows it was an aberration. It is what a bench player does. It's what Joey C did against Gtown. And it's what drives us Husky fans nuts when an opposing players goes off against UConn.

I'm glad he had a career night on senior night. Previous to Marquette his high game in rebounds this season was 6 which he did once, and then three games with 5 rebounds.

No one will be happier tham me if he continues this level of production, but I'm not holding my breath expecting it.

Why was Sr. Night the Marquette game and not the last game against Seton Hall at home. Isn't it traditionally the last game at home?

I'm also surprisingly comfortable with him on the foul line.
He did miss that and 1 FT after his steal which surprised. He seems to not miss much anymore. I'm just glad we have both of them as they complement each other perfectly.

Marquette was a good match up for Johnson. Gold doesn't play like a center and isn't as strong as most of the other centers in the Big East, but he is a bit quicker.

It’s tomorrow. Alex will participate
I got confused on that post saying Samson had a career night on Sr. Night. Yeah I heard on the broadcast of the Marquette game Alex was part of the Sr. Night festivities.

Aw c'mon, you've been on this Boneyard team even a couple days longer than I have. With nobody playing any defense on you, you've got at least 3 solid unforced errors in your post.

You had wide latitude to make a choice and you opted to proclaim you won't be holding your breath, when you could have simply held your tongue. It's a lucky break that you flubbed the Senior Night call in pointing out what many veteran watchers might think, but most would (and did) ignore in favor of unreserved celebration for what we almost all want (and got) in a key victory.

Let our opponents bask in being driven nuts, without any help from us. They deserve it

Samson got a loose ball near halfcourt, drove in from the left side and got the layup in the second half. It was a high speed play, he never hesitated, and it showed how much he was into the game. After Alex's 3 it was the play of the game.

Fair points. I saw somewhere else on this board that it was Senior Night, and as I've declared many times, I am way too lazy to.do my own research for an internet message board.

Did you know you can't stick your tongue out of your mouth and breathe out your mouth at the same time?

You may need to go back and refresh your memory of Boone. He was a stud on and off the stat sheet.

Well, he’s not a 100% ft shooter…

Seems as though I can, but then no real sense of why why I'd want to.

Damnit. I saw a list on social media you couldn't do it.

It does appear you cannot touch the tip of your nose with your elbow is true.
