  1. 3 point city to start.
  2. Sanogo's putback at 16:15 was the first 2 point bucket of the game. Nova didn't make a 2 point field goal until there was just over 8 left in the half.
  3. When an announcer says "He almost traveled," What it really means is "He traveled, but it wasn't called."
  4. First 4 point lead of the game came on Polley's only 3 of the game, at 8:50 in the half.
  5. Jackson's floater in the lane is becoming a deadly weapon.
  6. The charge on Cole at the end of the half was a good call.
  7. Martin's shot from the opposite foul line wasn't close. Shocking that at the half, we were shooting a higher percentage from 2 and from 3 than Nova! 46% to 41% FG and 46%-42% 3pt. Outscored them 16 to 4 in the paint. 19 to 11 edge on the boards - 6 to 2 O-board, 13-9 D-board.
  8. Martin catching fire in the 2nd half. Unfortunately, so is Moore.
  9. When Martin got his shot blocked on the broken play at 4:25, the feeling of despair entered the room. Hope tried to return, but flickered in and out like fluorescent light bulb in its dying moments.
  10. Oddly, we ended up with a higher 3 point percentage than Nova, 36 to 33. We outrebounded them by 10, too. None of that makes me feel any better.
  11. The two teams combined to take 52 three point shots, making 18 of them.
  12. Except for the final score, it was a good game. Well played, and surprisingly well officiated. But it was still a sad outcome.

Kudos to Whaley with his 4 blocks and tough D.
The first one when he stuffed it at the rim was unbelievable. But it was at the TV timeout and the Fox broadcasting team did not replay it when the TV break was over. They should have showed it in slow motion and at real speed. ( They did show it in a montage of highlights but at a bad angle)

If someone finds the clip I would love to see it again.

You never feel good about losing in that building - too much history, too many potential memories at stake. You win the Big East Tournament and you're immortal. Everyone knows that.

But these players are gonna wake up on Sunday excited about the opportunity they have in front of them - because they know they're good enough to beat anyone, anywhere. Not many other teams can say that.

First turning point for me was the rebounding foul called on Polley. It was questionable and probably the worst call of the night (meaning it was a well reffed game). Gave Nova the ball and they hit a 3 to push lead to 8? Could have been UConn with ball down 5 there. Just a huge shift.

Second was Martin being blocked. UConn still fought after that but 2 there changes the momentum completely.
