Actually, the usual terminology is a little more graphic. What I am referring to are teams from non-power conferences who play an excessive number of "BCS" teams.
This year's winners are Arkansas - Pine Bluff and Mississippi Valley State, each of whom has scheduled 8 games against teams from the power conferences.
There are actually only 21 "mid-majors" playing 5 or more games against schools from the Power Conferences. I excuse Atlantic 10 teams (Temple and Xavier 7 games, 3 teams with 5). I also excuse BYU and Old Dominion (6) as well as Hawai'i and Middle Tennessee State (5). Reasons for these teams playing more BCS teams than most are, I think, apparent.
The other teams playing 5 games against the power conferences are: Alcorn State, Central Michigan, Creighton, Cal State Bakersfield, Grambling, Howard, Longwood, Prairie View A&M, St. Mary's and South Dakota State.
Later in the weekend, I will comment on "BCS" teams playing other "BCS" teams.
