Since there is that ridiculous thread ripping apart Boatright I thought I would start one. I remember Kemba's sophomore year when fans here were tearing him apart, I even remember some fans getting on him when we had our Big East losing streak his junior year. Well Boatright is a sophomore and he is still learning, I expect him to have a big jump next year. He's far from perfect but he is a very good player and is a Husky through and through. One more thing, he's the best dunker we've ever had. Let's see if a positive Boatright thread can get more posts then a negative one and let's see if we can spell his name right.

The criticism is unfair, I agree 100 percent. We are so lucky that he stayed...

with that said, the greatest dunker we've ever had has to be Rudy Gay

Rudy and Sticks were our 2 best dunkers before Boat but they are both a legit 6'8, Boat is 5'10. I don't think I've ever seen a 5'10 guy game dunk like he does. He dunks it one handed, two handed off the alley oop and he does it routinely. Tons of 6'8 guys are great dunkers, you would be lucky to come up with just a few guys who can game dunk like Boat at that size, I can't even come up with one.

My favorite dunk is still Tony Robertson breaking out of a long slump and laying down that tomahawk on BC. I also loved that Edmund Saunders one against Arizona that left their center (forgot his name) cowering in a puddle on the floor.

But damn it's fun watching a little guy like Boat do it.

No one loves a Boatright dunk more that Ryan himself.

1 OT, it was there. He missed it. Oh well.. I applaud the fight, effort and heart. Tough loss..

I love how everyone here would have had the composure to make the play that they are saying that Boatright didn't in a frantic situation..

Boatright played his ass off - as did the whole team. Cant say enough good things about this squad. There is no place for negative threads after this effort

You would think not, but apparently every loss is a moral failure or something.
And watching Boatright dunk is one of the true pleasures in basketball this season.

The kid is a pisser...love him.
Would folks prefer Evans?....yes, until he screws up and then....Why isn't Boat in the game?

Waiting for "Brandan Allen would have passed to DD from half court through a sea of defenders with 3 seconds left" posts.

Ben has to be in the conversation for best dunker.

As for boat, I'm very surprised he isnt compared to Kemba more often. Both kids flat out play their hearts out. Both of them during their early Freshman and Sophomore years struggled to make good decisions. Kemba turned the ball over at a pretty alarming rate his early years. Boat shows signs of immaturity, including the defense ends of things. They are both superbly athletic, and incredibly speedy, and once Boat perfects that little floater in the lane, it will be LETHAL. Boat's shooting numbers this year have surprised me (although they've declined as the season went on and BE play started.)
It's hard not to look at the shot at the end of OT1 and be completely frustrated with Boat, he did have DeAndre wideeeeeeeeeee open for a lay up. However, its things like this that will allow Boat to mature and develop better decision making just as Kemba did and just as Shabazz has. This entire team takes a load of unfair criticism, we're incredibly young with a world of potential ready to explode.
And its going to happen, next year, all over the college basketball world. I love this team. Each and every player.

It would be interesting superjohn to see how many "trashers" that are describing(rightfully so) Bazz as a great leader this season were the same folks who wanted Bazz' head last year when he fumbled blatantly "learning" both the PG position and how to be a leader. I really hope Bazz comes back because his obvious multiple skills plus Ryan having another year under his belt plus the new recruits plus KO building on what has already been a stellar introduction to elite D1 coaching; and we will be ready to

ROCK AND ROLL!!!! :D

GO HUSKIES!!! BEAT THE BEARCATS!!!
