[QUOTE="oldhusky, post: 3960748, member: 9844"] Fouls received I believe is just how often you are fouled in a game. In isolation it may be hard to pass judgement on, but will tend be high for players that draw a lot of fouls (Think James Hardin or Chelsea Dungee at Arkansas as an example). Usually players that drive aggressively to the basket, and handle the ball for much of the game. The ability to draw fouls is an underrated factor in player evaluation. Surprisingly the difference between players who rarely get fouled vs. those who get fouled frequently, is as big as the difference between players who rarely foul others and those that get in foul trouble a lot. A spot up three point shooter who rarely shoots off the dribble doesn't get fouled much. One advanced stat that adjusts for all relevant factors is True Shooting Percentage. Like Effective Shooting Percentage, it converts three pointers to the two point equivalent, but goes further to covert FT's into two point equivalents as well. As long as your FT % is higher than your Effective Shooting Percentage, getting fouled a lot helps your True Shooting Percentage because it is substituting two free throw attempts for a FG attempt.
