Come on Badgers!!!!

Yes, as you well know, I hold grudges long, long, long times....

Rutgers has a 53-46 lead, going into the 4th.

If Rutgers could shoot, they would be a tough out with their ball hawk defense. 18 steals through 3Q.

I'm hoping our poor shooting is due to us not playing in two weeks. I think we'll shoot better once we get some more games under our belt. Arella doesn't go 3-14 very often.

Rutgers with 22 steals. I guess they still emphasize defense.

One Wisconsin player with 11 TO’s, another with 9 TO’s. Don’t see that too often.

And Wisconsin still only lost by 5.

Also there's this that could have also effected how we shot the ball.

Wait what? If Rutgers could shoot would be the first time EVER that I have been watching CVS coach. Rutgers is NOT going to be a tough out as they usually swoon down the stretch.
2019-20 22-9 with 7-7 last 14 games
2018-19 22-10 with 7-7 last 14 games
2017-18 20-12 with 4-10 in last 14 games.

So while I am usually 100% with you on your observations beating lowly Wisconsin is not impressing me nor has be buying them as a "tough out"...Sorry @KnightBridgeAZ

I understand Rutger's offensive (shooting / passing) history and I have no reason to think this group will be much different. It just seemed to me their defensive energy was better than I have seen in recent years. Some of that is clearly due to Wisconsin being so nonchalant with the ball but maybe they will surprise. I like Guirantes inside game and energy.

The talent level is the best it has been in a while. It is something of a myth that they can't shoot well, generally, they have a habit of taking poor shots and being poorly coached as to improving that situation - or, as I've always said, there is often a gap between what Vivian wants to happen and what actually happens on offense.

Of course, the tendency has been over the years to recruit highly athletic players (that can play the defense) in lieu of pure shooters. But as I say, there is some serious talent on the team.

No, I don't put a lot of stock in beating Wisconsin; the end of the season swoons have largely been due to (so far as I can see) a complete breakdown in the locker room once the team started facing better competition and greater disciplined play was required. If we can avoid disaffected, suspended, transferring and unhappy players, a better result might be expected.
