It's almost like you have to give a proven coach ample time to turn around a cratering program and not rush to the guillotines in the middle of year 2...

While Hurley inherited a better roster, I agree with this sentiment. Pikiell is now in Year 4 at Rutgers. Had a losing record every season thus far in Piscataway. Hurley is in Year 2. Rebuilds take time.

Even more impressive about their win vs. Penn State last night is that it was without their starting PG Geo Baker.

Both him and center Myles Johnson are an excellent duo for the team and both of which were respectively #414 and #371 in 247's 2017 prospect rankings. Great finds and developments by Pikell

They’re still built like us. I’m not saying they aren’t better this year, but they play tough defense and iffy offense. Maybe one of Baker or Harper can break out as an offensive star. They still don’t have a true stud and I think that will hold them back come tournament time, but at this rate they’ll be dancing and that’s an accomplishment in itself for Pikiell.

Last night's win moved Rutgers up 9 places to #20.
We dropped 3 spots to #100. Our lowest ranking so far this season. :(
