Some of you 100 level XL people might be in for a disappointment.

Dear UConn Basketball Season Ticket Holder:

We hope you share our excitement for the tip-off of the 2014-15 basketball season, as our men’s and women’s basketball teams defend their national championships. As an XL Center season ticket holder, we wanted to inform you of some of the exciting renovations occurring at our basketball home in Hartford.

Brand-new scoreboards and video boards are being installed in the building, to enhance the game day experience for patrons. Concourses are being modernized, with new concession areas, updated restrooms, brighter hallways and clearer signage. The venue manager, Global Spectrum, has been working hard to enhance the overall appearance of the building in an effort to make it more fan-friendly. For more information on the renovations, visit www.xlcenter.com

As part of the renovation work, the XL Center made significant improvements to ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) seating areas. In order to accomplish this task, some of the top rows in certain lower level seating sections were eliminated, thus effectively reducing the capacity of those sections. Additionally, some of the top rows were removed from Sections 120-to-123 to allow for the construction of a Club area for XL Center patrons. In total, 826 lower level seats were lost.

A by-product of the reduction in lower level seats is that priority point totals have increased for the various lower level sections. The demand for tickets from our loyal donors and fans, combined with the reduced lower level capacity, has led to some unavoidable shifting in seat locations. Some fans who sat in the lower level last year will receive 200-level seats this season. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. As always, we made our best efforts to provide our dedicated season ticket holders with the best possible seats at the time of allocation.

Should you have any questions, please contact us at 1-877-AT-UCONN (288-2666), Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Everyone at UConn appreciates your great support of our student-athletes and your ongoing attendance at our basketball games. With your help, we will continue to demonstrate that UConn is the “Basketball Capital of the World.”

Sincerely,

Athletic Ticket Office
