Georgetown is a top ten team IMO. RU is not, and without Rushdan they are in big trouble.

was she out cold? hope it's "just" a mild concussion and nothing with the neck/spine.

I hope that they have her over at the medical center and are guarding against possible (though rare) hematoma and such. No need to fool around when you have GU medical right there.

A mild neck injury say announcers.

it honestly didn't look like Rushdan hit her head all that hard, but it's hard to tell from the not so great angles they showed. i do have to say, i'm pretty surprised at RU's poor performance, with, or without, Rushdan. i really thought RU was turning the corner offensively, but they seemed to have no idea how to run offense. the announcers kept saying "RU really working the shot clock..."...

um, no. RU was doing a lot of standing around, passing WAY outside the 3 point line, and then realizing the shot clock was down to 5, were forcing a bad, rushed shot. i'll admit i did not watch the whole 40 minute game but i watched most of the first half and that's what i saw...

We looked completely lost without Rushdan's leadership. We also missed her driving to the hoop and creating things for others. What a sad and pathetic game from us.

Seems both teams are totally guard oriented in their offense. Very little, if any, post play though both had height at the post position.

Rutgers seemed a step or two slower than Georgetown.

Despite the rankings, not overly impressed with either team.

Rutgers is a terrible team on the offensive end. I'm not even sure we should be ranked after this performance. ND and you guys are going to absolutely destroy us. Losing Rushdan hurt, but it shouldn't be this bad.

I'm jealous of you guys here. UConn would never embarrass themselves like this...

Being a Rutgers fan is hard.

McGee is a forward and a big part of Georgetown's offense.

Pasturize - don't forget a certain first half of a NC game a few years ago - that was pretty painful to watch. But in general, I have to agree with you - been a good few years since you have had any type of consistent offense, and that was usually based on individual brilliance as opposed to any really organized plan.

ugh sorry about that. i have to admit, i have really rooted for RU this year - partly cuz of the super nice fans who have been visiting our board from RU. i'll get to see them in person when i go back to CT for the BET. i hope Rushdan is ok and that RU comes back strong.

I've never seen Sykes play up to her hype ... and she was Ranked #2 coming out of high school

Rushdan was hit in the head by a G'town player's arm when the G'town player tried to intercept a pass. She was knocked down and hit her head on the floor. No foul was called. The play happened right in front of where I was sitting. The game was pretty physical and the refs were we letting them play. Hopefully she will be able to play on Tuesday. We definitely learned today that the team is lost without her leadership.

No foul needed to be called, it was a clean play. Many replays were shown and there clearly was no foul.

Rutgers fans as a group - based on message board posts - don't think there was a foul. Some folks just think every time there is contact there is a foul.

In fact the only objections to the refs that I really saw on the board was some feeling that 4 charges called in the early going could have at the least been called either way. The feeling is that they took a lot of the offensive fight out of the team.

You misunderstood me. I did not say a foul needed to be called. They were both going for the ball, but Dee was hit and knocked to the floor. She then hit her head and was almost stepped on as well, but fortunately the G'town player was able to jump over her. Personally, I prefer when the refs let them play. I don't like tightly called games as it ruins the flow.
