I'm done with it.

Literally, I'm finishing the last of the 12 pack I bought for Thursday night's game.

Figuratively, I'm never buying it again. This isn't because I want to drink some fruity beer--Sam Cherry Wheat or Blue Moon (these beers are also garbage)--but because I neither find it helpful to the mojo nor do I like the beer.

I'm going to replace it with a good IPA for the spring next year. Rolling Rock had some good times. I drank it during some good moments. I drank it 2009 against Mizzou. I drank it when they played Syracuse in the 2011 BET semis. I drank it 2011 against Arizona.

But are far too many games I didn't drink it and things went well.

I didn't drink in in 1999--I was too young.
I didn't drink it during any 2004 game. I was on The Boneyard then, but not indoctrinated.
I didn't drink it against UK--at an airport--nor against Butler (I was in a Seattle bar and they didn't have it).

I did drink it against Mason. I did drink it against Iowa State.

Perhaps most damning, I did drink it against San Diego.

Goodbye Rolling Rock. I'll finish this swill, and then move on to a more enjoyable experience.

Don't diss the sweet nectar of RR. Listen, I love beer and good beer at that. But for the UConn games, RR it is. Always.

I joined the Boneyard just about 2 years ago, now. Before I learned of this tradition, I always drank Beck's on gameday. It's a tradition I've carried with my father and stepmom (big husky fans) since I've been drinking. So, I feel the mojo respects my decision to keep that tradition alive.

3 Championship Games, 0 Rolling Rocks. I like the sense of community drinking RR brings, but hate the beer and the results speak for themselves.

The fact that you think it's swill but will still finish the ones you have also speaks volumes.;)

Hey. I have an idea. At your next Sunday mass, why don't you do this?

When the priest is about to drink the blood of Christ? Walk up and say "Hey. Have this Mountain Dew instead! It tastes better than that stinky ol' Jesus blood and the last time I drank it? I found a ten dollar bill in an old coat pocket."

They're not called The Sacreds for nothin'. There's a reason. And, like that Christ blood stuff, you don't question it. You just drink it.

I'm new but why not just drink both.
I have always drank Ballentines for Uconn games but this year I had a couple of RR also.
I am big on superstition so since the yard told me to drink RR to help with the mojo I did and also had some wings!

After a 22 of Ballentines a RR didn't taste so bad, I kinda enjoyed it because I knew all of my fellow yardians were drinking it too! :)
