RIP Loni.

But I always liked Bailey more.
Loni and Jan Smithers had a Ginger/Maryann thing going.

Never saw an original episode of WKRP (it's run coincided with my undergrad years. I didn't watch a lot of TV then) but when I was out I was able to catch it on reruns. It was a far better show than I expected. The turkey drop was one of the best comedy episodes in the history of television.

And yes, I preferred Bailey (and Maryann).

I was eight years old when WKRP debuted. I was already hooked on radio at that age, and I credit that show with pushing me toward working at WSTC in Stamford as a teenager. Yes, it was a sitcom (with an incredible cast), but the dynamics and diverse personalities mirrored what I experienced at WSTC in real life.

I told my buddy last night, when informed of Loni's passing, that in the last 2 weeks they've been dropping like turkeys.

Eh. She only had one major role, but she was front page news throughout the 80's when she and Burt were together.
I don't know that she had a major role. She was eye candy on a sitcom that lasted 4 seasons. And half the guys watching preferred Bailey Quarters over her. And, if I recall correctly, they were front page news because of a super messy divorce.

I mean, every other day here, some random celeb from 50 years ago dies and this place drops to it's knees.

Thanks for putting it in perspective. Hey everyone, stop caring that this person died.

LOL. So far, the "caring" in this post is a bunch of 50-somethings remembering that they whacked it to her poster. So touching.
