Grant Jackson , winning pitcher of the seventh game of of the 1979 World series, has died of Covid complications. He was a Pittsburgh Pirate then of course, but played for many teams including the Yankees, Orioles, Phillies ,and Expos during his career. RIP Mr Jackson.

Not if you were an Orioles fan... I remember him as well.

The worst part about the '79 series was I was living in a dorm at WVU where 90% of the "inmates" were Pirates fans.

As a Yankee fan, fellow left handed pitcher and Civil War buff, I always enjoyed his skill, pitching and name, RIP Grant “Stonewall” Dwight Jackson...age 78.
