One of CFB's good guys, for sure.

I blame the death thread on the basketball board.

Wow. Unbelievable and sad. RIP to a good man who oozed class; particularly when we needed it most following the Jazz tragedy.

I agree. The most amazing part was that he oozed class while most of the WVU Athletic Department just oozes (see Luck, Oliver). He stepped in under difficult circumstances and handled it well.

One of a very few classy guys to coach at WV and totally unappreciated. God bless Coach Stewart

A classy man who died way to young. May God give his family comfort during these difficult times.

That's a tough one. Will always appreciate the genuine good nature of the man. He loved the sport and treated us with respect. RIP Coach.

Very sad to hear it. He showed a tremendous amount of class to UConn during the Jazz Howard tragedy. RIP Coach Stewart.

For some awareness, over 60% of people who suffer heart attacks and strokes have normal lipid panels (your cholesterol screens).

If you do have a physical planned, ask your doctor to expand on the test to include at least screening for Lipoprotein (a), also know as the "widow maker gene" (the hereditary component) as well as for your CRP level (it shows signs of inflammation being active in your cardiovascular system). No one is too young to get screened and if risk levels are high they can be managed by lifestyle changes and meds. Cardiovascular disease, in most instances, can be reversed.

Being in the business, more and more docs are screening for it to coincide with all of the preventative measures that are being incorporated by the system. Identify the stroke before you have to pay for the stroke, both health wise and dollar wise.

Hope this helps.

Met him on a trip to WVU a few years back. What a gentleman and a class act through and through. You'd never meet a more passionate Mountaineer! I'm also grateful for the heartfelt welcome he gave to the entire UConn team when they played there in 2009.

RIP Coach Stewart. My sincere condolences to your wife and son and the rest of your family. May they find peace and joy in the memories of your life with them.
