RIP: Earl Lloyd

African American History Month 2015 and Earl Lloyd passes. He was the first NBA African American NBA player. I know people here may not have heard of him including myself. To not hear much about him is a testimony to his class and his success in paving the way. Right man at the right time (3 years after Jackie Robinson).

We don't have to imagine what he endured for all of the millionaire players to enjoy what they are doing. I hope the NBA finds a way to honor this historic, ground-breaking man.

Wow, my youngest just did a report on him for his 3rd grade Black History Month project. I had never heard of the guy prior to that until my son pulled his name out of a hat. I am sure the NBA will honor him in some way.
