I worked with Arnold back in 1998 when I was designing what was to be his restaurant at 207 Main Street in Hartford (now Hook n Ladder). The project never came to fruition. He was just a sweet gentleman. Rest in Peace Arnold.

Does anyone remember when he banned all calls about the UConn men’s basketball team for a while? If I recall correctly it was about the time a group of players were declared academically ineligible. This was pre Calhoun and he was getting call after call from a small, compared to today, but passionate fan base who thought a change was needed because the program had potential. Sound familiar Boneyard? Back then there was no internet, no WFAN and ESPN was a baby and his show was a way to get your sports fix – especially the Whalers and the Red Sox

Wow. Just read this. RIP Arnold. Remember listening to him a lot as a kid on Sports Talk talking Whalers hockey.

Same with me. Always put those two in the same breath. Arnold Dean and the Whalers.

RIP Arnold.

I was a regular caller on his show and Arnold was always the most gracious and gentlemanly man.

A true local icon from a bygone era. I don;t think we'll see an Arnold Dean type anytime soon.Media / radio has changed so much since Arnold's radio days.
