High potential. His size makes him a special prospect. Looked like he slung the ball well in Texas hs action. Him and Boyle are both very quality qb recruits compared to the past qbs we got out of hs as a BCS program. 2015 spring and summer will be a lot of fun with these 2 and Casey going for the #1.

You really think Boyle will be better than Lagow? There is no real way to tell now i know. I gotta figure that being a starting QB for Plano and playing in Texas against the best in the state has got to translate here better than CT football would. eh, we'll see

I dont think Casey has a chance in hell. Looking at him in practice this year and last I was very unimpressed.

I will be nice but I think Casey in the 2 years behind whitmer will get passed by 1 or both of Boyle and Lagos after they get in the gym and practice. Casey is a good qb with a good head on him. He's just a little short and a little small. His weight has been talked about before here, the little extra to make him think gives him better velocity thru good mechanics on the ball but makes him slower. As a baseball pitcher you can play with your body that way, as a college qb you can't lose the scramble ability and think your going to win a job down the line. Casey has a uphill battle on his hands.

To be very honest, the best ath in the class last year was kivon arguably. His arm looked mccumings like wild but my god if we can ever teach him to throw just Geno smith good he could be a monster.

don't you know? Recruiting is all about zip codes. Way more important to get a Connecticut kid even if he isn't any good (though I'm not saying Boyle isn't good. I actually agree with palatine that he will be the better of the two) than the best player available. Zip codes starting 06 rule, baby!

Given Boyle and Lagow's natural skill sets (height, in particular), Cochran may be looking for another school at which to play come 2015. He certainly didn't build up any confidence in the spring game. Let's not forget the forgotten QB recruit either...Out of the A-T-L, IIRC?

I was going to say like, but what I really mean is that I agree with you on all of this. With the 3 guys we have coming in, somebody will be odd man out next season.

Let's let this kid breathe. The past few that were deemed Messiah didn't exactly part the waters.

I.E. Cochran who has gone from savior to transfer without playing a down.

Not to change the subject, but since we are talking about QB’s, did you guys see that we have offered Logan Marchi from St. Paul’s in Bristol today? surprised about this as it was done before the camp…

I have no idea how anyone can form an opinion that allows them to conclude either Lagow or Boyle is the future star here. Who's seen both up close? I've seen one and if the others as good we'll be in fine shape at QB because I think TB brings an arm plus athletic skills that Dan O didn't have. And the other guys haven't quit out of fear last time I looked. !

At least on paper, this is the deepest we have ever been in terms of young QB talent. Obviously, we'll have to wait and see who materializes into the "real deal", but how can any UConn fan not be excited for the future prospects at this position....including Whitmer!!! I'm really looking forward to him breaking out this season. But the future does indeed look bright at Husky QB...

I think this was a reaction to finding out about his temple offer and the staff was scared into offering to keep face. They have done a bad job being 1st and for some reason like to hang on without offering until they have to. It's getting annoying. They kept quiet about outlow and then he said f it and went to bc. Then a month later the staff starts recruiting him heavy. Just a real dumb 90s strategy. We offered yiadom once we figured out he was going to bc. We offered Cohen once temple or some one offered and he went to bc a week later anyway it seems. And so on. The only player we have been out front with is newsome. It's beyond me at this point. If we lose dintino I may drive up to storrs and try to fight the guy. The strategy is weak. The kid clearly likes uconn and wants to be here. The other 2 best ol in New England are both bc verbals. It's a dam joke. Either p saves face with dintino-marchi-newsome-rb2 or he is just throwing in the towel don brown style last year because he knows next year will be elsewhere.

Everyone here laughed and tucked it up when the md ad made the recruiting site bonus to RE. That should tell you how much freaking money perception is worth in this sport and to schools overall. Uconn still does not get it. They should have called Sylva last fall and told him he can verbal for 2014 and call or text the site writers your a verbal to get some pr. We lack basic poop like this because the whole ad sucks. They have no clue about football still to many 90s bball holdovers and phonys.

I'm afraid you are the one without a clue. How many players have you actually recruited in your tenure as a head coach? lol. Your constant criticism of everything done by the UConn AD gets to be old real quick.

Very intrigued with these prospects.

Lagow. Played at a high level in Texas saw the films and looks great. Has a strong arm and looked pretty accurate Looked like team played a pretty sophisticated offense. His stats though are average but They were a run first team.

Boyle. Coaches seem high on him to offer after he left. Good size. I see good accuracy but arm strength seemed average to me

Kivon Taylor. I don't know what to say. He is a mystery as much as Obama birth certificate. He looks athletic. Only film I can find he is not in pass. Looks accurate. Looks athletic Looks skinny. ( we know what uconn can do with that). I wonder if he is even a d-1 talent but at the same time I feel he an be a superstar.

Seriously. I'm glad that we brought on some talented recruits, but we've been down this road with Cochran, Neibrich, and Box just in the last couple years. Let's let this play out before anointing one of them savior.

Anybody else pumped about this dude coming to town?
I honestly believe he will be the future of UConn football. As long as we stay pro-style that is.

That's pretty much where I am too. This kid seems to have the physical attributes of a Sunday QB, hopefully the necessary intagibles are also there. He's either the next Dan Orlovsky or the next Zach Frazer.

I have seen Tim play a number of times and will tell you he has a very good arm.

Well, both are getting paid to play football professionally so I will take either one.

Anyone seen Lagow and his tricked out truck on campus. His dad said it ran north of $65K, so it must be a helluva ride.

He's got a Ford Raptor. IMO, they are worthless unless you are jumping sand dunes in the Mojave desert. The things are able to tow as much as my fiance's Nissan Altima.
