TO KML:

Don't worry, be happy!

When the shots fall as you expect them to, the timing will be perfect!!!:)

Kaleena's occasional struggles make Maya's accomplishments look even more impressive. When the jumper wasn't working for the Magnificent One, she still found ways to score--tip-ins, steals and fast breaks, etc.

Kaleena needs to stay confident and keep working. Her shot selection is usually very good.

I'd argue KML is still finding ways to contribute, and in ways it took Maya a while to develop--i.e., driving in for a layup. And don't forget about her uncommon defensive skills and rebounding. This is not a one-dimensional player.

I've never bought into this urge to compare Kaleena and Maya. If comparisons are necessary, she's more similar to D than Maya.

D also could be streaky ... with her long-range bombs. But, she always was near-automatic with any open shot within 15'.

Reading this story, some numbers struck me. Kaleena "combined 4-of-20 from the field in this span. She is 3-of-12 from 3-point range." -- That means she was 1 for 8 inside the arc. That's a bigger problem than being cold long-range.

"Mosqueda-Lewis scored five points (2-of-10 FG; 1-of-6 3-pointers) in 29 minutes against South Florida Jan. 28. She had six points (2-of-10 FG; 2-of-6 3-pointers) in 29 minutes at Duke Monday." -- So, mid-range or layups: 1 of 4 vs. USF and 0-4 vs. Duke.

Wow. What gives with that?

In any case, as noted previously, it would be simply fantastic if the percentages right themselves next month (and April). If being in a slump now is the price, it's well worth it.

Yes, in fact, Geno was still encouraging Maya to drive during the NCAA tournament in her senior year!

Geno to KML:

Quit being a baby [when it comes to passing up open shots]. You're in there for a reason. When you're open, you shoot it. When you're not, you pass it.

In other words, Geno is going to keep putting her out there, and when she has an open shot, she needs to shoot it.

Go Kaleena! We believe in you.

That in contrast to at least one member of the board calling her out for shooting when she is cold.

Where does he (or she) coach?
