Well the season is over already. Blink of an eye, seems like, eh? And our post-season competition for the Boneyard Fearless Forecaster Championship is now completed as well, a leg earlier than our collective hearts have desired. Collectively, our prescient predictors had one of their least prescient outings, with a season low of only three participants qualifying to earn additional points for the Miss State game - by rule, gotta pick the correct winner to earn points. And only two of those three were close enough with their forecasts to actually accrue points, with BIG BIRD netting 8 for nailing the correct MOV and MEYERS stumbling on 6 by being only two off that correct margin of victory. The top guns for the competition based on their cumulative points for the entire post-season 2017 are: OLD DUDE, who scored in several legs, held on to his lead with his amassed total of 19 points to become our first BONEYARD FEARLESS FORECASTER COMPETITION CHAMPION. What a nice and difficult job, OD. And an impressive winning margin to boot. Coming in for second place honors, we have a tie. RFORD, a tough competitor who was our early leader for the championship, had dropped down to second place as of Leg 4, and holds on to second with his impressive total of 14 points ; but RF is joined there by BIG BIRD who brought his total up to 14 by backing into the starting gate with 8 new points in Leg 5. Goes to show that it's never too late to score big in this competition, even if you are just "kracking the karma", to quote BB himself. In third place just a horse tail behind those three leaders is JDUBCT, another stalwart who finished with 13 points. Next up with a solid total of 11 is Yard luminary, TONY C, followed very closely by JELLY BEAN who earned 10 by being our only predictor to correctly nail an exact score in the post-season. Nifty call. Rounding out our TOP TEN for this competition, and all tied with 8, are CHOO CHOO, VA HUSKIE, BALL HAWK, and LAS VEGAS YANK. Just one point behind that illustrious group are a whole host of lusty competitors, all of are mentioned along with the point totals in the previous "Results" threads. Nice going. Enjoyable. And thanks for the ride. " With enough good luck and some wisdom," hopefully we'll all be back for another "Score prediction thread" series which I'll plan to post again starting with a regular season competition next November. Stay well.
