We are at the mid-point of our post season competition to crown the BONEYARD FEARLESS FORECASTER CHAMPION for 2017. After two outstanding collective efforts, the third leg of the competition, the UCLA game, was our weakest collective performance thus far, perhaps suggesting that the closer games are more difficult to predict with accuracy? Too soon to conclude that, but just a hypothesis. On a brighter note, more difficult predictions might make it easier for those who do well to rack up relatively more relative points. We have had new comers score some nice points in each of the last two legs. So, with plenty of time left (we hope) to put points on the board for seasoned performers and newcomers alike, here are the cumulative results thus far: (No one scored 10 for correct exact score and correct MOV in this third leg, nor did anyone get the 8 points for correct MOV alone or 7 for being just one off the correct MOV; some did hit the 6 and 5 point marks.) In the cumulative point lead is RFORD with 14 points thus far. Right on his heels are two sturdy competitors, OLD DUDE and JDUBCT, with 13 points each. Next up the famous TONYC with 11 cumulative points, followed very closely by JELLY BEAN, our only entrant to date who nailed the MOV and the exact score for ten points in one swell foop, and he was one of our first timers. Several others have put points on the board already, led by a strong quartet of BALL HAWK, VA HUSKIE, LAS VEGAS YANK (what does he know with a handle like that that we don't?), and CHOO CHOO, all of who have 8 points to date. RIght on their heels with 7 points apiece are: NEAGGRAD, OZIMOTO, RWSLEEP. Right behind them with 6 points we find THE MAN, BIG BIRD, HUSKIE 11, ERICSANDIEGO, RAYVIN, BROWNS, BROADWAYVA, and JIM (a mix of great competitors and newbies in that group). Right on them with 5 points each are MTCOUGAR, TOMCAT, CT TRANSPLANT and HUSKY FANATIC. Clearly, this is anybody's race at the mid-point. Corrections sought and welcomed as always.
