The article reports the property is to be redeveloped as residential housing with some commercial space.
 


-> Barnes & Noble at UConn in downtown Storrs is closing its doors at the beginning of the New Year to make way for a new brewery, the first of its kind in the village.

Urban Lodge Brewery, which is opening in the fall of 2026, is also part of an academic initiative with UConn to provide experiential and academic learning opportunities for students to connect with the craft beer industry, according to university officials. <-

-> The idea to bring a brewery to downtown Storrs culminated from the wide interest from students in the UConn Brewing Innovation, a collaboration between the College of Engineering, the College of Agriculture, Health and Natural Resources and the School of Business. It was formed in 2023 to provide students with academic courses and experiences concerning the brewing industry such as the science of brewing.<-
