Next Sunday I’m meeting a couple of old friends for the Georgetown game starting at 1:30. We’d like to catch up before the game so we’re looking for a place where we can talk and have something to eat. We’re old so we’d like it to be a fairly short walk. Any recommendations would be appreciated as well as any parking tips.

Trumbull Kitchen is good assuming they are open. They probably will be because of the game. It is very close to XL. There may be parking right next to the restaurant. I park on Trumbull a little further down closer to Bushnell Park, not a long walk, and it is usually a pretty quick exit out to the left away from the traffic. Parking is $10.

Agave Grill is another one very close to XL. There is an open air parking lot a short walk north of it that is across from Saint Patrick/Saint Anthony church. Parking is $20 I think.

Call to verify they are open, make reservations, give yourselves plenty of time. Have fun!

there are a few places on front street or arch st, which are little walk from the XL center, maybe 15 mins. el pollo guapo (mexican), arch st tavern, plan b burger, bear's (bbq/smokehouse). I'm not sure if salute is still downtown, but it is good too. There used to be a gyro place too, but I'm not sure if that is still there. Some places on Pratt St I think.

Cafe Aura is in Manchester, about 10 miles or 15 minutes east of the XL Center by car. Open on Sunday at 11am for brunch. It's Geno's place, and a very nice restaurant.

The LADY, formally the Russian Lady actually has decent food. They are located right behind the XL Center. I was there for the BU game and it wasn't crowded at all.

Salute is our favorite restaurant, but they are booked solid due to the basketball game and something going on at the Bushnell. Their service is second to none, and the food is fabulous!
