Women’s basketball pre-bracket study guide: Bet on Baylor, keep an eye on Kentucky, don’t doubt UConn

Who’s in your Final Four?

Charlotte: South Carolina, UConn, Stanford, Iowa
Shannon: South Carolina, Stanford, UConn, Baylor
Chantel: South Carolina, Kentucky, Stanford, Iowa
Lyndsey: South Carolina, Stanford, LSU, Baylor
Brian: South Carolina, UConn, Texas, LSU
Dorothy: South Carolina, Stanford, Baylor, Kentucky

"Charlotte: In Bueckers’ absence, the Huskies dealt with injury and COVID-19 pauses, which forced different players to take on increased roles. Now with Bueckers back, they’re whole again and peaking at the right time. Even Geno Auriemma is recently seeing flashes reminiscent of old dominant Huskies teams. That’s scary for the rest of the field. As much as we don’t know about UConn’s potential given its evolving state, my prediction is, it wins the national title. It’s a storybook ending for a bizarre season and with the Final Four in Bueckers’ hometown, could the stars be any more aligned?"

Interesting that no one had Louisville or NC State in the FF
NC State if in UConn bracket is understandable, where as Louisville the weakest possible 1 seed, not so much.

The timing of article is weird as Selection is in 4 days, why not just wait till then?

Did they mention in the article what bracket are they using? Not Creme's or Last Reveal, which obviously didn't include Kentucky.

Another pre-selection sunday article:

Who’s a Final Four sleeper? 12 questions, answers on women’s college basketball

"What No. 1 seed could be eliminated early in the NCAA Tournament?
Yes, we know that South Carolina can be beaten. Its Achilles heel is poor free-throw shooting (67.1 percent), and junior Zia Cooke missed two key ones with less than 20 seconds to go in the SEC title game. But the loss will steel the Gamecocks more than it will hurt them. As expected, Stanford won the Pac-12 tournament and NC State won the ACC tournament, and both look solid as No. 1 tournament seeds.

It’s Louisville that gives me pause. At times, the Cardinals struggle offensively and become stagnant. Being a great defensive team will only take them so far."
