Whaler Guys interview with CRDA director Michael Freimuth.

Around 18 minute mark to 20 minute mark deals with rentschler field.

Talks about among other things about how current field is completely torn up to re-do sub-soil below turf to be ready for this season and lacrosse championships next year. Apparently the current root structure is nearly destroyed and turf field is being torn apart

Interesting 1 hr long interview about current CRDA ownerships of downtown apartments, convention center, rent, and future of XL center including info about oak view bid etc.

Oak Street* Interesting segment. The way Friemuth explained it was that Oak Street, if they were to make this investment would need a professional team for ROI.

Not trying to get ahead of myself but could it be possible this is the secret investment group Malloy spoke of in 2013/14? Just spitballing but definitely something to keep an eye on. CRDA will give a recommendation by the end of the summer.

I know what conspiracy kitty would say here. UConn in the B1G basically equals a professional team. Where is Oak Street located: Chicago. Where is B1G main office? Chicago.

"By July the field will be back and by the fall it will be great."

So there is really not a problem for UConn football. But why mention that?

Now we know we won't be getting a soccer game this summer.

Was at the Rent for the Brew Fest today and saw the field. It's definitely being torn down.
