This game is being televised on CBS College Sports. That's DirecTV channel 613. If you have another TV provider, you'll have to look it up yourself. :)

Probably going to record both this and the UConn-Providence game and flip between both as long as ND-GT is competitive.

This could be a tough game for ND. They just secured a tough, emotional win over UConn and now have to go on the road to play an erratic but potentially dangerous Georgetown squad. I'm not so bold as to predict an upset, but this could be an unpleasant experience for ND.

Let's just say I'm glad we're playing Providence at home and not GT on the road three days after an exhausting overtime game.

Even if ND wins, it will be an unpleasant experience for them. I am not sure G'town can score enough to win, but look out if Sugar gets hot. It's a perfect setup for a trap game.

I would be thinking that the Hoyas could actually win this if it were not for the fact that Rodgers seems to disappear when she is defended well, and ND is certainly capable of defending her. Has Rodgers ever had a good game against top team? I can't recall her ever doing well against UConn.

Not sure, but I think Sugar lit up Tennessee last year. She can go 5-21 as well as 9-21. But if those 9 are all threes, they can win.

You might be right, but this Tennessee team is not a good defensive team, IMO. Their perimeter defense is particularly weak.

Nice halftime segment re. Jeff Walz and his stuttering problem. I like the way he deals with it. I like a lot of things about him.

Zero points for Rodgers at the half. She pads her stats vs. bad teams and disappears when she is defended well. She has to be one of the most over rated players in the country.

ESPN is not showing the Box Score yet, but I could not help myself. I know Gtown is a physical team but c'mon.....32 Free Throws for ND

Skyler Diggins scored 22 points, No. 2 Notre Dame went 28 for 32 from the free throw line, and the Irish avoided a post-UConn letdown by holding Georgetown (No. 17 ESPN/USA Today, No. 18 AP) to 28 percent shooting in their 80-60 victory Tuesday night.

Number of fouls called were pretty even but ND drew more fouls while shooting which what its guards are very good at. Georgetown had 25 FT attempts but only made 15.

ND's guards (Diggins, Novosel and McBride) shot a combined 21-24 from the line. They don't give away many points at the FT line.

Thanks UConnCat. I did not see Gtown's FT attempts. I am a bit more focused on ND's free throw attempts since the UCONN/ND game and Geno validated it on his show tonight. He even questioned how they get to the line so much in comparison to his players doing the same drive to the lane.

I was curious so I checked the stats at the Georgetown site. Sounds like tonight's game was consistent with what we've seen so far this season: ND's guards drawing shooting fouls while going to the basket. To their credit, they make the FTs.

I have the answer for him. His player may drive the lane the same, but they don't do it anywhere close to the volume that ND does. UConn shoots jump shots and 3's way more then ND. When you press ND their guards are mature and experienced enough to break the press then it's a straight shot to the basket. They aren't going to pull it back out and run a 1/2 set.

I think Diggins and Novosel are each approaching 100 FTAs. Tiffany leads us with 66. ND simply has gaudy FT scoring numbers.

Tiff: 66 FTAs in 425 minutes.

Diggins: 93 FTAs in 468 minutes.

Novosel: 95 FTAs in 421 minutes.

Kelly is 2nd on UConn with 30 FTAs. ND has 7 players with 35 or more.

In 15 games, UConn has shot 264 FTs. In 17 games, ND has shot 463. It is a major, major part of the ND offense.
