What I don't get is that the NCAA hammered Kentucky in the late 80s and that didn't damage them long term. Not to imply that their sanctions were a positive, but the revival of Kentucky basketball under Pitino was a big story. There's no guarantee that UNC would return to form as quickly as Kentucky, but it can be done. If things have gotten to the point where the NCAA is afraid of upsetting on the name brand schools, then they really don't serve much of a purpose. [/QUOTE]
