UConn has set such a standard for basketball excellence that it becomes difficult to keep track of how many records they set each year. Here’s a partial list of records they set in 2013-2014. Does anyone have some more to add?
  1. All time NCAA women’s basketball championship record of nine titles
  2. UConn women and men win the basketball titles in the same year for a second time
(Only UConn has done this. The previous wins were in 2004.)
  3. Blocked the most shots in a season. (324)
  4. Tied Baylor for the most wins in an undefeated season. (40)

Was their 34.2 points average winning margin a record?

One more record which may never be duplicated

1. First DI NCAA basketball team to lead the nation in blocks and least number of personal fouls committed per game.

2. All five starters end year scoring in double figures. (record tied by many other teams)

3. Lead D1 WCBB in combined home/away/neutral court attendance average.
(Tennessee led in home attendance as usual but not combined)

4. Second time undefeated and beat every team by more than 10 points (UConn '09)

5. Only trailed twice in the second half of all 40 games.

There are probably more, however these are the few additions I can offer.

Nope. I believe the great 2002 team recorded a 34.5-point margin. But 2014 was still damn good.

Largest minimum margin of victory of 11 has to be a record. Any team with even one loss has a negative MOV, so they're excluded. Baylor 2012's lowest MOV was five, along with a couple of other single-digit wins. UConn 2010's was six. UConn 2009's was 10 (twice). UConn 2002's was nine (even if they did play VT again and win handily). Tennessee 1998's was four. UConn 1995's was also four. Texas 1986's was five.

In short, this lowest MOV of 11 is definitely a record in NCAA tournament history (i.e., starting in 1981-82). I know La Tech had an undefeated season during the end of the AIAW years, and I don't know their MOV during that season. I'll try to look it up, but UConn 2014 has the record in any case as far as I'm concerned. :)

EDIT: I found the answer! Lousiana Tech was very dominant in 1980-81, but they did have a three-point win to their (dis)credit. So 11 is definitely the UConn 2013-14 record!
