Goodwin Hotel. Then either Max’s Downtown or Trumbull Kitchen. Can’t go wrong with either restaurant.

If you want excellent Italian, give Salute a try on Trumbull, towards Bushnell Park. It is walking distance from the XL Center and the Goodwin Hotel. The hotel IS very nice.
