Memphis was supposed to have the inside advantage, and the rebounding advantage.

We ended up with a 7 board advantage.

We were outrebounded by 2 on the offensive boards, but we actually did better on the offensive boards than they did, because they had so many more opportunities than us, having missed 35 shots to our 24.

On the defensive boards, we won the battle 21 to 12.

In other words, we took care of 9 of the 11 extra rebounding opportunies (the difference in misses) on their boards.

For a team that can't rebound, that was damned good.

Was only able to follow the game online (so I didn't get any flavor for how the actual play was) but doesn't rebounding have a huge correlation with FG% and since we were hitting a ton of shots, particularly in the 2nd half, doesn't that mean they didn't have as many Defensive Rebound opportunities?

Glad we won the battle of the boards and from reading the chat room it seemed like we did a better job of boxing out but they still got a lot of offensive boards.
