You hate them when they play for opposing teams....but gotta love the attitude.
I always thought there was a difference between Parker and Dee, though. Both have always been very confident players and they have the goods to back it up. But Parker would show up other (less talented) players, particularly in college. Those stare-downs and the fake-fights were such a turn-off. Dee tried to show up a player once and I think it was Rutgers' Tasha Pointer who was running her mouth at Dee for the entire game her freshman year. Dee finally hit a 3-pointer on her and clapped in Pointer's face. Geno yanked her from the game and she never returned. He told the team afterwards that there was room for only one jerk on the team and that was him. Summitt never sat Parker after some of her ridiculous antics on the court.
On the other hand, I know Dee's profanity is also a turn-off for many fans. I've been critical of some of Dee's outbursts. But there's a complexity and texture to Dee's personality that we get glimpses of now and then and that's what makes her (to me at least) one of the more intriguing female athletes in the world.
Based solely on talent, I'd like to have both on my team and that'll happen this summer in London.
