We needed another guy who can take cincy off the dribble. We were in the bonus at the 7 min mark of 2nd half and couldnt get to the line. Lamb struggling to take his guy off dribble since we got into Big East Play
Honestly, not the biggest problem this game. Our backcourt played great as did Giffey at the 3.
The problem was AO and AD not contributing at all offensively. Gates had a double-double(13 and 12) and our starting four and five contributed 6 pts and 12 rebounds together and went 3 for 16. I think Olander playing hurt was also an issue. Our starting 1/2 had 13 rebounds. I'm hoping this was a fluke game for them (and considering AD was leading the BE in FG%, I think it was).
i may just be reactionary right now, but i thought Lamb was awful tonight (by his lofty standards). Turned the ball over, forced shots, missed open looks, and below average defense.
AD, and AO had lousy games tonight as well. certainly didnt help.
JC will fix it, and we'll be fine. we had a rough stretch last year too....and it turned out fine.
Lamb has not played well of late. He is shooting way too many threes and his floater has become a vanishing act. That said he still had 8 boards and 5 assists. I don't blame him for this loss, nor Napier.
Cincy played very well and made a ton of tough shots. It happens.
Boatright will be back. His facial expression at the end of the game shows he expects to be back on the court, part of the team. Too bad we lost tonight.
Didn't know it was tweeted, but Katz did say that twice during the broadcast. Won't get my hopes up though. I'm glad Boatright is so optimistic, but he must be naive about how the NCAA works. They'll take another month or 2 to investigate this minor thing that happened while he was in high school while they let Yancy Gates play out the rest of his college career after acting like a thug on the court. (Sorry, that was OT, but I loathe Gates and the NCAA both).
