Really Hoping Sampson and Houston Win It All This Year. What a Job He’s Done

The guy can coach. I think Houston has the best chance of the three remaining teams to defeat Duke. I think they can hold Duke under 65 which gives the Cougars a good chance to win. I think Auburn and Florida would try to score with Duke which I believe is in Duke's favor.

If he gets to the championship game I'll absolve him of any transgressions he may have had in the past.

Pulling for Houston as well. Because they have never won a chip and I want to see Duke gone and not tied with us at 6 titles. I still shake my head that Phi Slamma Jama didn’t win it all in 82, 83 or 84.

I think it was John Fanta that said from 1985 until 2014, Houston went to a total of 4 tournaments. 4 TOTAL! Since Sampson has taken over, they have been in the tourney every year since 2018, including 6 sweet 16s, 3 elite 8s and 2 final 4s. Just needs a championship to finish things of. Sampson has done a hell of a job at Houston.

Kind’ve similar to a post I made in the Who do you want to win it all thread posted before elite 8 began (I posted after FF was set). Houston was #1

1. Houston - The fact that they haven’t won a championship in the last 7 years or so is kind’ve beyond me. Would’ve bet $ that they had at bare minimum 1 over that span. Kelvin Sampson is a hell of a coach and is top on my list for most deserving with the program he’s led over that short time frame and beyond. Also have never won it all.

He’s the arguably the best coach in college basketball. Before anyone lashes out, I said arguably.

I love him as a coach. He’s genius. There’s only a small handful of truly elite coaches.

Prefer Florida, and both wins for them by more than 2 points.
I would understand this angle more if you were a URI fan or something (they came surprisingly close to winning a transitive property runner-up by almost beating Oregon in 2017). This would be more like the USSR bragging about only losing the Miracle on Ice by one goal. You'd think UConn would be past this after steamrolling to consecutive titles but it seems to be a pretty popular sentiment on this board lol.
